- Peter Obi says he may not be alive to contest the 2027 presidential election, alleging that the current administration is deliberately frustrating his activities and making life increasingly difficult for him.

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has alleged that the current administration is deliberately frustrating his activities, warning that the situation has become so difficult that he is uncertain he will be alive to contest the 2027 presidential election.
Obi made the remarks while speaking during a public engagement, where he criticised what he described as persistent efforts to hinder his daily activities.
“With the way this government is going, I may not even be alive to contest the 2027 election. Every single thing I do for a living, this government is deliberately frustrating. I face frustration every day. They recently locked my car at the airport,” Obi said.
The former Anambra State governor did not provide further details about the alleged airport incident or identify the individuals responsible for locking his vehicle.
His comments come amid increasing political activities and exchanges among major opposition figures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
