The Special Adviser to the President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina has disclosed that the President’s eight-month sickness in 2017 was a setback to his administration.

“About all, eight months. That sickness took eight months of his time in the office. Of course, nobody would like that. But what we are glad about is that he came whole, sound and better than he went,” Femi said in an interview with ‘Channels TV’s Politics Today’ on Monday April 10, 2023.

VerseNews Nigeria reports that Buhari in 2017 was battling with an undisclosed illness since the start of the year and has spent long periods out of the country receiving treatment in the United Kingdom.

To reassure Nigerians that the Buhari is still much alive, a picture was released by an inner source.

This Online News Media reports that Buhari did not make any public appearances or addressed the country directly apart from a short voice message recorded in the Hausa language to wish Muslims a happy Ramadan.
