An Unusual night for Manchester United after losing a comfortable early lead and suffering key injuries in the Europa League tie with Sevilla on Thursday.
VerseSports reports that a two goal lead from Marcel Sabitzer inside the opening 21 minutes was cancelled by two late own goals from Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire in the first leg of United’s quarter-final tie at Old Trafford.
The devastating part of the loss is the injuries suffered by Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.
Martinez was seen been carried out of the pitch by his Argentina teammates Marcos Acuna and Gonzalo Montiel after the match.
It is not clear how serious the injury is but Ten Hag told BT Sport after the game: “Licha Martinez, it doesn’t look that great.”

“I cannot tell what it is but it is not achilles. No that is not the area,” he added.
“I think [with] the injury he will not play on Sunday. But again, I can’t say a realistic diagnosis and I prefer to wait. And then we are clear. We will know exactly what it is.”
Manchester United face Nottingham Forest this Sunday, knowing that they need a win to keep them in pole position for a top four finish.
But they will be without Martinez, Varane and Marcus Rashford due to injuries.
Bruno Fernandes will miss the second leg of the Europa League on April 20 after he picked up a yellow card that leads to a suspension.
But according to the United Boss, there is ‘a chance’ that Marcus Rashford is fit to face Sevilla next week.
