BREAKING: Tinubu Sacks NAHCON Board, Appoints Jalal Arabi As New Chairman

This decision is in accordance with Public Service Rule (PSR) 120243.

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, to proceed on three-month pre-retirement leave, leading to his retirement on January 17, 2023.

VerseNews reports that this decision is in accordance with Public Service Rule (PSR) 120243.

In response to this, President Tinubu has approved the appointment of Alhaji Jalal Ahmad Arabi as the new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON for an initial term of four years.

Alhaji Jalal Ahmad Arabi will take up his acting position on October 18, 2023, and subsequently serve in a substantive capacity starting from January 17, 2023.

Additionally, President Tinubu has dissolved the Board of NAHCON and expects the new leadership to carry out their responsibilities with reverence to Allah and adherence to the precepts of service according to the Holy Qur’an.
