On Saturday, an Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) official from the Oguta Local Government Area in Imo State asserted that a group of men had broken into her polling unit and snatched the result sheets.
VerseNews reports that Sandra Adimonye, who is the INEC Presiding Officer at Town School in Egwe Egbuoma Ward in the Oguta LGA, reported that a group of men had arrived on motorbikes and had taken away the result sheets.
INEC was alerted of the incident despite voting being in progress, causing them to bring new result sheets for the results to be entered after voting ended, which then led to a disagreement between the electoral officers and the party agents.
Governorship elections are being held simultaneously in Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa states.
