Daredevil robbers attacked APC agents at All Saints Anglican Church, Egbu, during the off-cycle gubernatorial election, making off with over N1.5 million.

VerseNews gathered that the gunmen entered the church premises, housing four polling units, amidst shooting and demanded money from APC officials.

Panic ensued, with people, including police and journalists, running amid heavy gunfire.

A voter reported that the robbers, initially appearing as regular voters, quickly revealed their arms.

“We had just finished complaining about the APC agent’s low bargaining for votes when these boys walked in and demanded for the money that was about to be shared amidst heavy shooting, while everyone took to their heels,” he said.

The agents were in the process of sharing money before the incident, and the robbers swiftly fled in vehicles after the attack.
