Air Peace and Etihad Airways have signed an interline agreement aimed at expanding air connectivity across Nigeria, West and Central Africa, allowing passengers to travel to more destinations using a single ticket.

The partnership, announced in a joint statement on Wednesday, will provide Etihad Airways passengers with access to 20 destinations served by Air Peace across Nigeria and the West and Central African region. It will also enable Air Peace customers to connect seamlessly to Abu Dhabi through Etihad’s Lagos and Accra services once the new routes commence.

Under the agreement, passengers travelling with Etihad will be able to continue their journeys beyond Lagos and Accra to several domestic and regional destinations operated by Air Peace without requiring separate bookings.

The destinations include Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, Enugu, Benin City, Owerri, Warri and Asaba in Nigeria, as well as Abidjan, Dakar, Banjul, Freetown, Monrovia, Conakry, Bamako, Douala and Libreville across West and Central Africa.

According to both airlines, the agreement supports Etihad Airways’ African expansion strategy announced in April, which includes plans to launch daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Lagos.

Once the service begins, travellers will be able to book their entire journey through Abu Dhabi and connect seamlessly to Air Peace’s extensive domestic and regional network.

Commenting on the partnership, Etihad Airways’ Chief Commercial and Revenue Officer, Arik De, described Nigeria as a key market in the airline’s long-term African strategy.

“Our ambitions in Africa are long-term, and Nigeria sits at the centre of them. This agreement gives our guests access to one of the continent’s most extensive domestic and regional networks, and it brings Air Peace’s customers to Abu Dhabi to experience our home. Partnerships like this are how we grow: with strong airlines that know their markets better than anyone.”

Air Peace’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nowel Ngala, said the partnership would create more travel opportunities for customers across the region.

“Air Peace has always been about opening doors for Nigerian and West African travellers. Working with Etihad Airways extends that ambition, giving our customers convenient access to Abu Dhabi on Etihad’s services once the new routes begin, while bringing Etihad’s guests to the many destinations we serve across the region. We look forward to welcoming travellers from both networks.”

The airlines disclosed that combined journeys will be available for booking through both carriers once the agreement officially takes effect.

The partnership comes amid growing economic and commercial ties between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates following the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement signed in January 2026, alongside the increasing Nigerian population living and working in the UAE.

The latest agreement adds to Air Peace’s expanding list of international partnerships as the airline continues to strengthen its global network through strategic alliances.

In April, Air Peace signed a bilateral Special Prorate Agreement with Turkish Airlines, enabling passengers to travel on a single ticket from Nigeria through Istanbul to destinations across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.

Earlier this year, the airline also expanded its bilateral interline agreement with Emirates, improving seamless travel between Nigeria, the UAE and London, while simultaneously strengthening its regional operations to position Lagos as a major aviation hub in West Africa.
