- FIFA will introduce championship rings for the 2026 FIFA World Cup winners, with President Donald Trump expected to attend Sunday’s Argentina vs Spain final and present the trophy.

FIFA has announced that the winners of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and Spain will receive special World Cup championship rings, introducing a tradition commonly associated with American sports.
The final, scheduled for Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, will also be attended by United States President Donald Trump, who is expected to present the World Cup trophy to the champions after the match.
According to FIFA, 30 championship rings will be produced for members of the winning team, while an additional 1,996 commemorative rings will be made available for fans.

Each ring will feature a miniature World Cup trophy and a specially engraved inner band to mark the historic occasion.
Trump to attend World Cup final
Trump’s attendance has been confirmed by the White House after FIFA President Gianni Infantino earlier revealed that the US leader would be present for the tournament’s showpiece event.
Although the United States is one of the tournament’s co-hosts alongside Canada and Mexico, Trump has not attended any of the previous 102 matches, including all of the US national team’s fixtures before their elimination in the Round of 16.
The president has, however, maintained a long-standing tradition of attending major sporting events, including the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, US Open Tennis Championships, Ryder Cup, and several UFC events.
Air quality concerns
Meanwhile, authorities have issued an air quality warning in New York due to smoke drifting south from ongoing wildfires in Canada.
However, there has been no indication that the conditions will disrupt Sunday’s World Cup final at MetLife Stadium.
Football fans around the world are now eagerly anticipating the clash between defending champions Argentina and European giants Spain, with the winner set to lift the FIFA World Cup trophy and become the first team to receive the newly introduced championship rings.
