- The Nigeria Police have arrested Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, hours after a Federal High Court in Abuja issued a bench warrant over alleged forgery, fraud and impersonation.

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), just hours after a Federal High Court in Abuja issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
Justice Muhammed Umar ordered Adeyemi’s arrest on Tuesday after he failed to appear in court for his arraignment on an eight-count charge bordering on alleged forgery, fraud and impersonation.
During the proceedings, the prosecution counsel, Wisdom Madaki, informed the court that the defendant had repeatedly failed to appear despite several adjournments granted at his request.
Although Adeyemi’s lawyer, Genesis Francis, was present in court and announced his appearance on behalf of the defendant, the accused was absent when the case was called.
Madaki urged the court to issue a bench warrant, arguing that Adeyemi had consistently frustrated the commencement of his trial.
“My Lord, this is the fifth time this case is coming up, and all the adjournments have been at the instance of the defendant,” the prosecution told the court.
Relying on Section 394 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA), 2015, the prosecution maintained that Adeyemi’s repeated absence justified the issuance of a warrant for his arrest.
Following the court’s order, police authorities moved swiftly and arrested the suspect in Osun State.
Adeyemi is expected to be brought before the Federal High Court to answer the charges against him as the case proceeds.
