Cubana Chief Priest, a prominent businessman and socialite, has advised Nigerians to remain calm and cooperate if they receive an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
VerseNews reports that the advice came in a post on his Instagram account on Thursday, April 18, 2024, just a day after he faced arraignment at the Federal High Court in Lagos State over allegations of naira abuse and tampering.
After pleading not guilty to three charges of spraying and tampering with naira notes during a social event at Eko Hotel on February 13, 2024, Cubana Chief Priest was granted bail set at ₦10 million with two sureties in like sum. Despite the legal troubles, the socialite cautioned against panicking when summoned by the EFCC, stating that the agency maintains a professional approach.
Cubana Chief Priest also praised the EFCC’s facilities, noting that they provide detainees with three square meals daily and that being summoned by the agency is seen as a status symbol for the wealthy. By sharing his experience, he emphasized that facing the EFCC should not be viewed with fear, but rather as a matter of conducting oneself appropriately in response to legal matters
