- Nollywood actor Charles Awurum has sparked reactions online after mocking South Africa following Bafana Bafana’s dramatic 1-0 defeat to Canada in the Round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Charles Awurum, has stirred social media after reacting to South Africa’s elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Canada secured a historic 1-0 victory over South Africa on Sunday, with captain Stephen Eustaquio scoring a dramatic stoppage-time winner to send the co-hosts into the Round of 16 for the first time in their history.
Reacting to the result, Awurum took to social media with a humorous jab aimed at South African fans.
“Go home and take care of your job and women.” 😭😭
The match had looked destined for extra time before Eustaquio fired home in stoppage time to break South African hearts and end Bafana Bafana’s impressive World Cup campaign.
South Africa had made history by reaching the knockout stage of the expanded 2026 tournament, but their dream of progressing further was dashed by a resilient Canadian side.
Meanwhile, Canada will now face either the Netherlands or Morocco in the Round of 16 as they continue their remarkable World Cup journey.
