Borno Governor Babagana Zulum oversaw the distribution of N125 million, food, and non-food items to over 40,000 families in Konduga Local Government Area as part of an ongoing palliative exercise.
VerseNews gathered that the distribution aimed to alleviate the hardships caused by the federal government’s fuel subsidy removal in May 2023.
The beneficiaries included 15,000 male heads of households who received rice and beans, and 25,000 females who received cash and a wrapper each.
This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to support vulnerable individuals in the state.
The distribution initially targeted 300,000 households but was later expanded to 400,000 households, with a focus on communities most affected by insurgency.
