The Federal Government’s newly launched C.L.I.C.K.D. Programme is now receiving applications from Nigerians who want to access laptops, smartphones, tablets and other digital devices through affordable consumer credit.

C.L.I.C.K.D. means Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Digital Devices.

The programme is being implemented by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation, CREDICORP, in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.

It is designed to help eligible Nigerians own digital devices without paying the full amount at once.

What is the FG laptop and smartphone loan?

The FG device loan is a consumer credit scheme that allows eligible Nigerians to apply for laptops, smartphones, tablets and connectivity devices through structured payment.

It is not a free grant.

Instead, successful applicants may be connected to approved financial partners and vendors who will provide devices under a repayment arrangement.

According to CREDICORP, the programme is meant to help Nigerians learn, work, earn and participate more actively in the digital economy.

To apply, follow the steps below:

1. Visit the official C.L.I.C.K.D. portal

Go to the official CREDICORP page:

https://www.credicorp.ng/clickd

Applicants should avoid fake links or agents claiming to sell slots.

2. Click “I’m Interested”

On the C.L.I.C.K.D. page, click the “I’m Interested” button.

This will take you to the application form.

3. Fill in your personal details

You will be required to provide:

  • First name
  • Surname
  • Email address
  • Phone number

Make sure the phone number and email address are correct because they may be used to contact you.

4. Select your location

Applicants must provide:

  • State of residence
  • Resident local government area

This helps CREDICORP identify where applicants are applying from.

5. Choose your current status

The form asks applicants to select what best describes them.

The available options include:

  • Freelancer or self-employed person

  • NYSC member

6. Add your monthly income

The monthly income section is optional, but applicants may fill it if applicable.

Income ranges on the portal include:

  • Below ₦100,000
  • ₦100,000 to ₦250,000
  • ₦250,000 to ₦500,000
  • ₦500,000 to ₦1,000,000
  • Above ₦1,000,000

Since this is a credit scheme, income information may help with eligibility assessment.

7. Select your digital talent programme

Applicants must indicate whether they are part of any digital talent programme.

The portal lists options such as:

  • Andela Learning Community
  • Learn2Earn
  • ALX
  • HNG Internship
  • AltSchool Africa
  • Genesys Tech Hub
  • Other

The current national pilot is linked mainly to the 3 Million Technical Talent, 3MTT, Programme.

8. Choose the device you need

Applicants can choose from:

9. State why you need the device

Applicants must also select why they need the device.

Options include:

  • Learning and certifications
  • Work or remote work
  • Freelancing
  • Business growth
  • School
  • Software development

10. Submit the application

Before submitting, applicants must confirm that the information provided is accurate.

They must also agree to be contacted about the application and consent to CREDICORP and its partners using their information to assess eligibility.

After ticking the required boxes, click Submit.

Who qualifies for the FG device loan?

For now, the first phase is expected to prioritise eligible fellows under the Federal Government’s 3MTT Programme.

Reports say the current pilot involves 1,000 locally assembled laptops, with the first set of beneficiaries receiving devices in Abuja.

However, the application form also lists other digital talent programmes, suggesting that more applicants may be considered as the programme expands.

Is approval automatic?

No. Submitting the form does not mean automatic approval.

CREDICORP and its partners will still need to review applications and determine eligibility.

As of now, CREDICORP has not publicly released full details on the interest rate, repayment period or down-payment structure for all applicants.
