The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigeria Police Force.

The appointment comes barely three months after Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anthony Okon Placid assumed the role following the exit of his predecessor, Benjamin Hundeyin.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the outgoing Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Placid, who described Iniedu as a highly experienced officer with a strong background in public communication, intelligence management, operational policing, administration, and institutional accountability.

A native of Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, CSP Iniedu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Chemistry from the University of Uyo.

“He coordinated public complaint management and championed initiatives aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, and public trust in the Nigeria Police Force,” the statement noted.

The new police spokesman also previously served as Public Relations Officer at the Police College of Information Technology in Kobape, Ogun State, among several operational and administrative assignments across the country.
