The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has launched a fresh reconciliation drive aimed at reuniting members and affiliates across the globe, declaring that the era of internal divisions and factional disputes must come to an end.

In a statement issued on June 24, 2026, the Coordinator of Coordinators (COC), Mazi Gosife Chigozie Okekenta, said the 4th Administration of the Directorate of State (DOS), led by Mazi Chris Nwaọgụ, is committed to restoring unity, discipline, and focus within the movement.

Addressing coordinators and members worldwide, Okekenta stated that all levels of IPOB leadership—from Unit Coordinators to Continental Representatives—have been directed to actively engage in reconciliation efforts and work towards rebuilding the organisation.

He urged all individuals and groups that had drifted away from IPOB to return, stressing that the movement remains open to genuine Biafra supporters, except for ten individuals previously expelled by IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The IPOB official also dismissed the existence of rival structures within the movement, declaring that there is “no Autopilot” and no self-declared government outside IPOB.

According to him, IPOB remains the recognised platform for pursuing the Biafra self-determination agenda, adding that any future Government of Biafra would emerge through a democratic process involving the people rather than self-appointments.

“The Government of Biafra will be elected by the people of Biafra at the appropriate time. It cannot be created by individuals appointing themselves to state offices from their homes,” the statement read.

Okekenta further called on members to abandon what he described as an atmosphere of suspicion, blackmail, false allegations, propaganda, gossip, and intimidation, urging them instead to embrace mutual respect, openness, and brotherhood.

He advised members seeking clarification on organisational matters to rely on established IPOB communication channels and the chain of command rather than social media speculation and rumours.

Reaffirming IPOB’s commitment to its objectives, the COC described the movement as a peaceful mass organisation and called on members to support efforts aimed at strengthening its structures worldwide.

He also urged continued support for the Eastern Security Network (ESN), stating that security remains essential to the future aspirations of the movement.

The statement concluded with a message of optimism, expressing confidence that the movement would achieve its objectives through unity, discipline, and collective action.

The statement was signed by Mazi Gosife Chigozie Okekenta, Coordinator of Coordinators (COC), 4th Administration of the Directorate of State, under the authority of IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
