NDLEA Storms Secret Drug Warehouse, Captures Husband and Wife With Over 400kg of Illicit Drugs

• The NDLEA has arrested a husband and wife after uncovering an alleged drug warehouse in Edo State, recovering over 400kg of skunk and Canadian Loud during the intelligence-led operation.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a husband and wife for allegedly operating a drug warehouse in Benin City, Edo State, where more than 400 kilogrammes of illicit drugs were recovered.

The Edo State Commander of the NDLEA, Mitchell Ofoyeju, said the suspects, Christian Chukwuka, 32, and Nwanneka Christian, 33, were arrested during a raid on the warehouse located in a residential area along Sapele Road following credible intelligence.

According to Ofoyeju, “We arrested a husband and wife, Christian Chukwuka, 32, and Nwanneka Christian, 33, at the illicit warehouse where they deal in narcotic drugs.”

NDLEA operatives recovered 22 bags of skunk weighing 219.5 kilogrammes and compressed blocks of Canadian Loud, weighing 192.67 kilogrammes, describing the operation as one of the agency’s biggest drug seizures in Edo State.

The commander said investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks across the state.

Speaking after his arrest, Chukwuka blamed poverty and unemployment for his involvement in the illicit trade, saying, “If given another chance, I promise not to deal in drugs again.”
