He also announced that the Safe City Volunteer Foundation will remain in Eruku in the meantime, assisting families of the victims and coordinating with local responders to strengthen community protection efforts.

The activist’s visit has sparked a flood of reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing pain, frustration and concern over the worsening insecurity in Kwara and other northern states.

Some users questioned why it took a private citizen’s intervention for the elderly woman to receive help. Others criticized security agencies for failing to track the kidnappers, noting that similar efforts are swiftly applied to cases involving cyber fraud. Many commended Gwamnishu for his consistency and courage in responding to crises across the country.

Solomon Utomi, reacting to the situation, lamented that state leaders often fail to take responsibility for local security, arguing that meaningful change will only happen when governors and local officials are held fully accountable.
