  • Pastor Enoch Adeboye has come under fire after suggesting that President Bola Tinubu is not being given truthful security reports by his aides, triggering angry reactions from Nigerians online.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), is facing strong backlash following his recent comments on Nigeria’s worsening insecurity.

In a viral video, Pastor Adeboye expressed concern over the state of security in the country, saying part of the problem stems from the information President Bola Tinubu receives from those around him. According to him, the President is not being fully briefed on the realities Nigerians face daily.

“When I heard my in-law, the president’s speech, especially the security part, where he said all is well now that the displaced people are back in their villages, I almost said the person who wrote the speech for the president does not like him. There are several people around my beloved in-law, President Tinubu, who are not telling him the truth,” he said.

His comments come amid rising incidents of kidnappings, banditry, and attacks on communities and religious centres. Pastor Adeboye urged the government to adopt a more diplomatic and holistic approach to addressing Nigeria’s security issues, noting that President Tinubu also inherited many of the challenges.

However, his remarks have sparked criticism from Nigerians who accuse him of being selective in his outspokenness. Many argue that he was vocal against insecurity during previous administrations but has been less critical under the current government.

“Isn’t the president in Nigeria? Didn’t the same president protest under GEJ? What suddenly changed sir?” a user named Zion wrote.

Another user, Prettycan, said, “You led a protest against a president because he is not from your tribe, but you can’t speak against or tell the current president the truth because he is your in-law.”

Christgospel wrote, “This man has really tarnished his credibility! Trust this man at your own peril.”

Pastor Adeboye’s remarks continue to generate wide reactions as Nigerians debate religious influence, political loyalty, and the nation’s security challenges.
