- Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that his global hit “Fall” changed his life financially, despite surprisingly ranking the song last during a blind challenge featuring some of his biggest records.

Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that his hit single “Fall” was the song that transformed his life financially, highlighting its lasting impact on his career despite giving it a low ranking during a blind challenge.
The singer made the revelation while participating in a “blind ranking” challenge, where he was asked to rank five of his biggest songs from one to five without knowing which track would be played next.
The challenge began with “Unavailable,” which Davido placed at No. 3.
When “If” came up next, he immediately ranked it No. 2, explaining that it was the first of his songs to receive radio airplay in the United States—a milestone that marked his breakthrough into the American market.
However, the biggest surprise came when “Fall” was played.
Although the global smash hit is widely regarded as one of the biggest Afrobeats songs of all time, Davido placed it at No. 5, explaining that the blind nature of the challenge made him believe even bigger songs were yet to come.
Despite the low ranking, the award-winning singer made it clear that “Fall” remains the most financially rewarding song of his career.
“Fall changed my life financially,” Davido said, underscoring the enormous commercial success the record brought him.
The challenge concluded with “Assurance” taking the No. 4 spot, while the No. 1 position remained unrevealed.
Davido’s Blind Ranking
- No. 2: If
- No. 3: Unavailable
- No. 4: Assurance
- No. 5: Fall
- No. 1: Not revealed
Released in 2017, “Fall” became one of Davido’s biggest international hits, enjoying massive commercial success across Africa, Europe and the United States.
The song also made history as one of the longest-charting Nigerian songs on the Billboard charts, helping cement Davido’s status as one of Afrobeats’ biggest global stars.
