A throwback video of Nigerian TikTok creator Jarvis discussing her preference for a court wedding has resurfaced online, sparking mixed reactions just hours after she legally married fellow content creator Peller.

In the viral clip, recorded long before their wedding, Jarvis jokingly said she preferred a court wedding because it would entitle her to half of her husband’s property in the event of a separation.

The video has since gained fresh attention following the couple’s court wedding, with many social media users linking her past remarks to her recent marriage. While some questioned her intentions, others argued the statement was clearly made in jest and should not be interpreted as a reflection of her relationship with Peller.

The resurfaced clip has divided opinion across social media, with critics suggesting it raises concerns about her motives, while supporters insisted old content should not be used to judge the couple’s marriage.

Reacting to the video, one user, @Chaplexis, wrote, “Jarvis is with Peller because of what she is getting from him. Remove the fame and money from Peller and Jarvis will leave him immediately.”

Another user, @ifedayoeri, commented, “Peller is in for a very rude awakening. Imagine trusting your entire life to a lady who abandoned her own career to be labeled another man’s partner.”

Others, however, defended the content creator.

@TheTGProf wrote, “There is nothing bad in what she said and besides, congratulations to her new home.”

Similarly, @its_Miguel04 argued that the statement was made for entertainment, saying, “If only you know how these streamers try hard to entertain their audience… Jarvis wasn’t taking the statement personal.”

The couple officially exchanged wedding vows at a court ceremony on Wednesday, with videos from the event showing them signing their marriage register before family members and close friends.
