- Bishop David Oyedepo has urged Nigerians to obtain their PVCs ahead of the 2027 elections, saying citizens have both the right and civic responsibility to determine who governs the country through the ballot box.

Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has urged Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing participation in the electoral process as a civic responsibility.
Speaking during a sermon titled “Breaking the Curses of Life” at Canaanland in Ota, Ogun State, on Sunday, Oyedepo encouraged Christians to take an active role in deciding the country’s leadership rather than remaining indifferent to politics.
“We have a civic responsibility as responsible citizens of our various nations,” he said.
The cleric, whose church has branches in 144 countries, urged members to register and vote according to their convictions.
“Endeavour to secure your voter’s card. You are men and women of the Spirit and should know, based on your personal conviction, who to cast your vote for.”
Oyedepo stressed that every citizen has a constitutional right to participate in governance through the ballot box.
“We are not passers-by in our nations. We are bona fide citizens of the nation and we have a right to participate in who governs us.”
He further added:
“So please go ahead. It is part of our policy and you will find it in the mandate. Ensure that you secure your voter’s right.”
While encouraging political participation, the bishop maintained that the church remains non-partisan and does not endorse political candidates.
“I have never carried a ballot box in my life, so I am not going to ask anyone to vote for me. I am already voted for,” he said.
“But we have a right to determine who rules us. And this church, with the millions that we have, has a say in it. So be part of it.”
His remarks come as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
