Nigerian content creator and social media influencer Ashmusy, whose real name is Amarachi Amusi, has revealed why she decided to freeze her eggs, saying the move was driven by her desire to secure her future as a mother amid disappointing relationships.

Speaking in an interview, Ashmusy explained that motherhood remains one of the most important goals in her life.

According to her, repeated heartbreaks and failed relationships made her realise she could no longer depend solely on marriage timelines to achieve that dream.

“I really wanted to secure my future as a mother. Motherhood is very important to me, and I want to be sure that I will become a mum in the future, no matter what happens,” she said.

The influencer disclosed that she arrived at the decision after several serious relationships she believed would lead to marriage eventually failed.

“I also realised that many men these days are not emotionally available or emotionally mature enough to be husbands, no matter how promising they may initially seem,” she added.

Ashmusy said she first became interested in egg freezing after learning that former Big Brother Naija star Uriel Oputa had undergone the process years earlier.

She described the decision as smart and empowering.

“I told myself that no matter how complicated relationships become, at least she had secured a future chance at motherhood,” she said.

The content creator revealed that she spent time researching the process extensively before proceeding.

According to her, she consulted doctors, used ChatGPT, read online materials, and explored several search engines to fully understand the procedure.

Ashmusy explained that egg freezing involves extracting eggs from the ovaries and preserving them in nitrogen for future conception through IVF or artificial insemination.

Speaking about her emotional journey, the influencer admitted she initially struggled with fear and pressure after turning 30 unmarried.

“I was convinced I would get married before turning 30, but when I turned 30 and it still hadn’t happened, I had to confront reality,” she said.

However, she noted that acceptance eventually brought her peace and clarity.

“I can calmly take my time to find the right partner without feeling pressured by age,” she stated.

The influencer also reflected on her recent adventurous trip to Zambia, where she participated in several high-risk activities.

According to her, the experience unlocked a new level of bravery and confidence.

“Now I feel brave, powerful and unstoppable. I genuinely feel like I can conquer the world after those experiences,” she said.

Ashmusy also spoke emotionally about her childhood struggles as the first child in her family.

She recalled carrying heavy responsibilities from a very young age, including cooking, cleaning, washing clothes and caring for her siblings.

“At eight years old, I already felt like an adult. It forced me to grow up too quickly,” she revealed.

The influencer credited her mother as her greatest inspiration and said watching her struggle to provide for the family shaped her determination to succeed.
