Tettey, a newly qualified legal practitioner and graduate of the Faculty of Law at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), reportedly collapsed shortly after the final whistle as jubilant fans celebrated the Black Stars’ victory on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

According to local reports, the young lawyer had recently been called to the Ghana Bar and was working with O & A Legal Consult. She was widely regarded by colleagues and friends as a bright and promising talent in Ghana’s legal profession.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that Tettey was watching the match with friends at Standard Hostel, a private student residence near the KNUST campus in Bomso, Kumasi, when she suddenly became unresponsive during the celebrations.
