VerseNews reports that in an exclusive interview with Channels Television’s Dateline Abuja program on Thursday, the Acting CEO of FCCPC, Adamu Abdullahi, discussed the commission’s intention to ensure that subscribers receive value for their money.

Abdullahi emphasized the importance of safeguarding consumer interests and indicated that the FCCPC would engage relevant stakeholders to evaluate the price adjustments made by MultiChoice. The commission aims to ascertain whether the price hikes are justified and whether they align with consumer expectations and industry standards.

During the interview, Abdullahi also provided updates on other regulatory matters. He mentioned the summons issued to the owner of a Chinese store in Abuja accused of discriminatory and sharp practices.

Additionally, he addressed the status of compliance with directives given to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), highlighting that the FCCPC is poised to impose sanctions for any verified infractions identified by the agency.
