Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved the appointment of Benibo Anabraba as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Anabraba, a former Minority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, represented Akuku-Toru Constituency II during his tenure in the legislature.
He replaces Tammy Danagogo, who had served as SSG from the second term of former Governor Nyesom Wike — now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) — through to the first two years of the Fubara administration.

According to a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Honour Sirawoo, the new SSG, Benibo Anabraba, will be sworn in on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., inside the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt.
