The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied appointing Femi Odubiyi, a former Commission in Lagos as its head of Information Technology Centre (ICT).

VerseNews Nigeria reports that the Commission made this known on Tuesday March 14 in a statement signed by it National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee Barrister Festus Okoye.

Okoye allege that the rumors of making such appointment has been circulating online through a Lagos politician, Chief Olabode George.

He debunked the report adding that the name Femi Odubiyi does not exist in any of its branch nationwide.

“To set the record straight, the name “Femi Odubiyi” does not even exist within our ICT Department at the INEC headquarters in Abuja or any state office of the Commission”

“Our ICT staff are career officers of the Commission. None has held political appointment in any Statae of the Federation.”
