- Kaduna House of Representatives aspirant Abin Al’ajabin Zazzau has opened up about years of humiliation and insults he says he suffered because of politics and his physical appearance.

A House of Representatives aspirant from Kaduna State, Abin Al’ajabin Zazzau, has spoken about years of humiliation, insults, and attacks he says he has endured because of politics and his physical appearance.
The 30-year-old politician, who is contesting for the Abuja Sabon Gari/Fada Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, made the revelation during an interview granted in Hausa language, where he detailed the personal struggles he has faced while pursuing his political ambition.
According to Zazzau, he has been repeatedly mocked, publicly humiliated, and targeted with insults directed not only at him but also at his family.
“For political reasons, my dignity has been violated. I have been humiliated and deprived because of the creation Allah made for me,” he said.
“I have been judged because of the way Allah created me. There is nothing people have not done to me. I have been insulted, humiliated, disgraced, and even my parents have been insulted.”
He added, “There is no move I try to make without people attacking my dignity and disrespecting me.”
Despite the challenges, Zazzau said he remains determined to continue his political journey because of his desire to reform his constituency and create opportunities for young people.
According to him, many youths in Sabon Gari are trapped in gangs and social problems due to lack of proper leadership and empowerment.
“I decided to contest for the House of Representatives seat because I want to bring youths out of the groups and gangs they are involved in,” he stated.
He argued that what residents truly need is empowerment and access to opportunities rather than temporary handouts from politicians.
“Our people are not asking for handouts or food. What people need is to be shown a way to earn a living — to be taught how to fish, not just be given fish,” he said.
Zazzau also lamented what he described as decades of poor representation in Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, despite its significance as a major commercial and industrial hub in Kaduna State.
He noted that the area hosts several industries, textile companies, educational institutions, and aviation-related activities, yet has not experienced the level of development expected.

“In Sabon Gari constituency, since the beginning of time, there has never really been proper representation in the National Assembly for the area,” he said.
He further questioned why such a strategic constituency has continued to suffer underdevelopment and poor political representation.
Zazzau disclosed that he had also attempted to contest for the same seat during the 2023 general elections but eventually stepped aside following appeals from political stakeholders.
According to him, he later supported the candidate who emerged at the time out of sympathy over challenges the person allegedly faced.
