The election results were collated manually at the different polling units and were opposed by opposing political parties and agents on the ground that it lacks credibility and transparency.

Despite the challenges and attacks witnessed across many states in Nigeria, the INEC chairman, Professor, Mahmood Yakubu went ahead and declare Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of All Progressive Party (APC) winner of the presidential election.

Many Nigerians, especially the ‘Obidient supporters’ rejected the election result announced by INEC, insisted that they were enfranchised at their polling units and that Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) is the winner of the election.

As it stands today, Obi and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party has gone to the Supreme Court of Nigeria the challenge the election process and results announced by the INEC.
