• The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association has announced the full results of the 2026 NBA national elections, with Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya emerging as the association’s 33rd president.

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has released the full results of its 2026 national elections following the conclusion of voting and the official announcement by the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA).

Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, emerged as the 33rd President of the NBA after polling 12,317 votes (47.18%) to defeat Lateef Akangbe (SAN) and Olumuyiwa Akinboro (SAN).

With her victory, Badejo-Okusanya becomes only the second woman to lead the association, succeeding Priscilla Kuye, who served as NBA President from 1991 to 1992. She will serve a two-year term from 2026 to 2028.

According to the ECNBA, 26,184 lawyers voted in the election out of 82,172 registered voters, representing a 31.86% voter turnout.

The election, conducted electronically, experienced technical disruptions and a cyberattack before the ECNBA successfully completed the process and announced the results.
