BREAKING: Adeleke Wins Osun Governorship Election, Defeats APC’s Oyebamiji (Full Results)

• Governor Ademola Adeleke has been declared the winner of the Osun State governorship election after securing 511,067 votes across the 30 local government areas, defeating his closest challenger, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.

Incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke has won the Osun State governorship election, defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adeleke, who contested the election under the Accord Party after defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was declared the winner by the State Returning Officer, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, after the completion of the collation of results from all 30 local government areas.

Adeleke secured a total of 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji polled 444,815 votes, giving the incumbent governor a winning margin of 66,252 votes.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, finished a distant third with 17,180 votes based on the collated results.

A total of 15 political parties participated in the election, although the contest was largely dominated by Adeleke and Oyebamiji.

Adeleke won several key local government areas, including Osogbo, Ede South, Ede North, Ife Central, Ife East, Ife North, Ilesa West, Iwo, Ifelodun, Oriade, Odo Otin, Orolu, Boluwaduro, Ifedayo and Egbedore, among others.

Oyebamiji, however, secured victories in several LGAs, including Ilesa East, Boripe, Irepodun, Obokun, Atakumosa West, Irewole, Atakumosa East, Isokan, Olaoluwa, Ife South and Olorunda.

The final results showed Adeleke winning 19 of the 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji won 11 LGAs.

Adeleke, who was seeking a second term, had campaigned on his administration’s achievements in infrastructure, the economy, pension payments, healthcare and digital transformation.

“Osun is no longer offline. Osun is awake—digitally and economically,” the governor had said while highlighting his administration’s record.

“We pay what is owed. We respect those who served. This is not politics. This is performance. This is leadership with results. Osun is rising—and we are not turning back.”

The governor had also raised concerns over alleged attempts to disrupt the election and promised to establish an independent commission of inquiry to investigate reported killings and acts of violence connected with the election.
