Former Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha has announced his withdrawal from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s governorship primary in Imo State.

VerseNews Nigeria reports that Ihedioha in a statement date March 27, 2023 with a title: “NOTIFICATION OF MY WITHDRAWAL FROM THE IMO STATE PDP GUBERNATORIAL PRIMARIES” said his withdrawal is a “personal sacrifice” for the interest of harmony and unity in the party.

In statement which was directed to the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the former Governor noted that the decision to withdraw from the governorship was not easy for him but was inspired by his “commitment to the service of people.”

In the interest of harmony and unity of the party, I elected to make the personal sacrifice of withdrawing from further participation in the process leading to the emergency of the gubernatorial candidate”

This Online News Media reports that Ihedioha was screened and cleared a few days ago by the PDP to contest the party’s primary ahead of the November 11 governorship election in Imo State.
