Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election Peter Obi has arrived the Appeal Court in Abuja to begin the journey of restoring what he tags ‘the people’s mandate.’

VerseNews Nigeria reports that Obi is among the aggrieved candidate in he February 25 presidential election challenging the victory of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmood Yakubu at about 4:15am on Monday March 1, 2023 declared Tinubu the winner of the election.

According to Yakubu, the formal Lagos governor polled 8,794,726 votes to win the election.

He declared that Atiku came second with  6,984,520 votes, while Obi as the third runner-up with  6,101,533 votes.

However, Obi has refused to accept the outcome of the election on the ground that it lacks credibility, transparency and contradicts the Electoral Act, 2022.
