President Bola Tinubu has reportedly taken a drastic move to prevent the FBI, CIA, and other U. S. agencies from releasing confidential files as the October deadline approaches.

VerseNews gaathered that the FBI would start making available roughly 2,500 of the President Tinubu-related documents stored in its database starting in October, according to a September report.

Christopher Carmichael, one of the attorneys who defended Tinubu in the recent contentious academic record case, reportedly filed motions to appear in an ongoing freedom of information lawsuit filed against the U. S. organizations with records that could shed light on the president’s long-term goals and true identity.

According to Civil Local Rule 83.2(c), the attorney filed his motion.

Mr Bryan A. Carey, who practises in D.C., said on Mr Carmichael’s behalf, “This motion is supported by the Declaration of Christopher Carmichael. As set forth in Mr. Carmichael’s declaration, he is admitted and an active member in good standing.”

Oluwole Afolabi, the president’s principal attorney in the United States, told The Gazette that he could not comment on the matter until it had officially started.

Mr. Carmichael did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The attorneys would work to submit a thorough defense as soon as possible in order to present any relief claims before the deadline of October 31.

The FBI had previously stated that it intended to give Aaron Greenspan, the owner of PlainSite, a website that promotes anti-corruption and transparency in public service, access to the record before the end of October.

Various U.S. institutions and three agencies—the State Department, Internal Revenue Service, and Drug Enforcement Administration—have expressed a willingness to hand over thousands of pages of Tinubu-related documents.

To prevent the release of his academic records to Atiku Abubakar, his rival in the 2023 presidential election, President Tinubu recently lost an urgent appeal at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago.
