Rotimi Amaechi has revealed that opposition coalition leaders have agreed to support whoever emerges as the ADC presidential candidate in 2027, insisting on a transparent and fair primary process.

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has declared that opposition coalition leaders have agreed to support “anybody who emerges” as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 general elections.

Versenews reports that Amaechi made this known on Wednesday while addressing journalists in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

According to the former Rivers governor, the opposition is confident the ADC primaries will be “transparent, free, and fair” — a key condition that has united the coalition.

“The moment anybody emerges from the primary, all of us will support; that’s the agreement. We insist on a free and fair, transparent primary,” Amaechi stated.

He also took a swipe at the Bola Tinubu administration, lamenting the “hunger and hardship ravaging Nigerians” and urging Rivers residents to register under ADC to vote out the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

Meanwhile, APC chieftain Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has pushed back on claims made by Temitope Ajayi, a media aide to President Tinubu, that Tinubu was instrumental in helping Muhammadu Buhari win the 2015 election.

Ajayi had posted that although Buhari had “12 million captive Northern votes,” he lost in 2003, 2007, and 2011, but won in 2015 thanks to Tinubu, who “mobilised the APC governors and the South West delegates.”

In response, Eze called the narrative an “erroneous impression” that needed to be corrected.
