- The ICPC has uncovered another alleged fake government agency operating within the SGF office, prompting President Bola Tinubu to order the arrest of its alleged promoter and suspend three permanent secretaries.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has uncovered another alleged fake government agency operating within the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The ICPC Chairman, Dr Musa Aliyu, SAN, disclosed the development on Friday, identifying Prince George Buchi Nwabueze as the alleged promoter of the agency.
According to Aliyu, the agency operates under the name ‘National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office’.
He said the agency had been unlawfully allocated office space within the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation without the required authorisation.
The discovery was made during investigations into the earlier fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PFIPC, which subsequently led to the uncovering of two other fictitious agencies.
Following the latest development, President Bola Tinubu ordered the immediate arrest of Nwabueze and the suspension of three permanent secretaries in the SGF office.
The affected permanent secretaries are M.S. Danjuma, Nadungu Gagare and Richard P. Pheelangwah.
The President also ordered a forensic audit of government processes as part of efforts to uncover how the fictitious agency was able to operate within the government premises.
The ICPC said investigations into the latest discovery were ongoing, adding that it would continue to work with relevant government authorities to establish the full circumstances surrounding the agency and those involved.
The latest development adds to a growing investigation into fictitious government bodies and alleged irregularities within government offices, following the earlier exposure of the PFIPC.
