EPL: Darwin Nunez Double To Give 10-Man Liverpool Three Points

Darwin Nunez on Sunday evening saved Liverpool from early season misery after scoring twice against Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

Newcastle were first to draw blood after Anthony Gordon’s right footed shot from the centre of the box to the centre of the goal to make it 1-0 in the 25th minute.

Liverpool’s frustration after several chances without a goal saw defender sent off three minutes after conceding a goal to reduce squad to 10.

The Jurgen Klopp boys were unable to level the scoreline before the break but things around for them after several efforts on goal as Nunez finally found the back of the net to level making it 1-1 in the 81st minute.

The same effort was applied nine minutes later as Nunez answered the call after an assist from Mohamed Salah from the right side of the box to the bottom left corner to make it 2-1.

Sunday’s victory for Liverpool see them climb to fourth on the log with seven points.

Newcastle are 13th with three points after two defeats.
