- Abia State Governor Alex Otti has approved the payment of the first phase of veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu’s medical bills following her public appeal for financial assistance to undergo three life-saving surgeries.

The governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Martins Justice, announced the intervention, revealing that Otti had approved part of the actress’s medical bills.
While expressing appreciation to the governor, Justice noted that the intervention does not cover the full cost of Nwosu’s treatment and appealed to Nigerians to continue supporting the veteran actress financially.
He also thanked Governor Otti on behalf of the creative industry for responding to Nwosu’s plea.
The intervention comes days after the 62-year-old actress made an emotional appeal, revealing that she had been hospitalised for three weeks and urgently needed ₦30 million to undergo three critical surgeries.
In a video shared on her Instagram page, Nwosu pleaded with fans, family members and colleagues not to abandon her, saying the cost of her treatment had become overwhelming.
The veteran actress said she was enduring severe pain and appealed to well-wishers to support her treatment through her management team.
