JAMB CAPS, known as the Central Admissions Processing System, is the official platform where candidates monitor and respond to admission offers from universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
For the 2026/2027 admission year, candidates are expected to check CAPS regularly to know whether they have been admitted, recommended, transferred to another course or still waiting for admission.

How to Check Admission Status on JAMB CAPS 2026
Follow these steps:
- Visit https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng
- Log in with your JAMB email and password.
- Click Check Admission Status.
- Select your examination year, such as 2026.
- Enter your JAMB registration number if required.
- Click Access My CAPS.
- Click Admission Status.
- Check whether admission has been offered.

Meaning of JAMB CAPS Admission Status

How to Accept Admission on JAMB CAPS
If your status shows Admitted, do this:
- Log in to JAMB eFacility.
- Click Check Admission Status.
- Click Access My CAPS.
- Select Admission Status.
- Click Accept Admission.
- Confirm your decision.
- Print your JAMB admission letter after acceptance.
Once you accept admission, JAMB records you as admitted for that institution and course.
How to Reject Admission on JAMB CAPS
If you do not want the admission offer:
- Open your CAPS dashboard.
- Click Admission Status.
- Select Reject Admission.
- Confirm the rejection.
Be careful before rejecting admission. Once rejected, the offer may be withdrawn and given to another candidate.
What Is JAMB Transfer Approval?
JAMB Transfer Approval happens when an institution wants to offer you admission into a different course from the one you originally applied for.
For example, you applied for Medicine, but the school wants to offer you admission into Microbiology. The new course will appear under Transfer Approval on CAPS.
You must either accept or reject the transfer before the school can continue processing the admission.
How to Accept Transfer Approval on JAMB CAPS
To approve a course transfer:
- Log in to https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng
- Click Check Admission Status.
- Click Access My CAPS.
- Click Transfer Approval.
- Read the new course carefully.
- Click Accept if you want the new course.
- Go back to Admission Status and keep checking.
After accepting transfer approval, the institution may continue processing your admission under the new course.
What Happens If You Reject Transfer Approval?
If you reject the transfer, the institution may not process your admission into the new course.
Only reject transfer approval if you are sure you do not want the new course.
Why JAMB CAPS Is Showing “Not Admitted”
Your CAPS may show Not Admitted because:
- Your school has not uploaded its admission list.
- Your O’level result is not uploaded.
- You did not meet the cut-off mark.
- Your course is highly competitive.
- Your subject combination is wrong.
- Your admission is still being processed.
- You have not accepted transfer approval.
- Your school has not completed internal screening.
Keep checking CAPS regularly.
How to Fix JAMB CAPS Problems
1. CAPS not opening on phone
Use Chrome and switch to Desktop Site.
2. Admission not showing
Confirm that your O’level result has been uploaded to JAMB CAPS.
3. Transfer Approval not showing
Wait and keep checking. It will only show if your school has officially moved you to another course.
4. Email or password not working
Use the password reset option on the JAMB portal.
5. Admission offered by school but not on CAPS
Do not pay acceptance fee blindly. Admission is only fully valid when it appears on JAMB CAPS and you accept it.
How to Print JAMB Admission Letter
After accepting admission:
- Visit portal.jamb.gov.ng
- Log in to your profile.
- Select Print Admission Letter.
- Make payment.
- Download and print your admission letter.
