Tragic event occurred on Tuesday in the Lagos neighborhood of Ago, Okota, when a car being pursued by a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, official crashed into a tricycle, killing a pregnant woman and her two children.

The tricycle’s operator also perished in the collision.

An eyewitnesses who spoke to VerseNews claimed that a LASTMA official attempted to seize control of a Toyota Sienna while it was moving in order to arrest the driver for breaking traffic laws.

On Bayo Oyewale Street, a tricycle was struck after the car reportedly lost control during this process.

Tragically, the pregnant woman was driving her kids to school.

An angry mob surrounded the LASTMA official after the incident, which led to a protest.

However, the official was spared from being lynched thanks to the quick action of a group of police officers, who used tear gas canisters to disperse the mob.

As they whisked the LASTMA official away, the policemen also dismantled the barricade the protesters had erected on the road.
