Premier League clubs Manchester City and Arsenal were eliminated from the Champions League quarter-finals, with City falling in a penalty shootout against Real Madrid and Arsenal losing narrowly to Bayern Munich.

This leaves the Premier League without representation in the semi-finals for the first time since 2020.

In a surprising turn of events, both Manchester City and Arsenal have been eliminated from the UEFA Champions League at the quarter-final stage, leaving no Premier League clubs in the semi-finals for the first time since 2020 and only the second time since 2017.

Arsenal’s quest for their first Champions League semi-final appearance since 2009 came to an abrupt halt, leaving manager Mikel Arteta to refocus his squad on their domestic commitments.
