VerseNews reports that the US Mission in Nigeria shared the warning on its official X account on Monday, emphasizing that consular officers have full access to immigration records, making it nearly impossible to evade penalties for past violations.

“If you overstay your US visa, you could face a permanent ban on traveling to the United States. Consular officers have full access to your immigration history and will know about past violations. The US authorities reiterated that visa holders are solely responsible for complying with the terms of their stay, and ignorance of visa regulations will not be considered an excuse.
