VIDEO: Three Students Pulled from Collapsed Anambra Hostel, Search Continues

• Three victims have been rescued alive after a three-storey student hostel collapsed near the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, with emergency responders continuing search-and-rescue operations for others feared trapped beneath the rubble.

Emergency responders have rescued at least three victims after a three-storey student hostel, Elite Five Star Lodge, collapsed in Amokpala, near the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The building reportedly caved in on Sunday night, prompting a large-scale rescue operation involving the Nigeria Police Force, the Anambra State Fire Service, the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), and other emergency agencies.

Rescue teams have been working tirelessly to search through the debris for more occupants believed to be trapped beneath the rubble.

As of the time of filing this report, three victims had been pulled out alive and rushed to St. Michael Hospital, Oko, where they are receiving medical treatment.

Authorities are yet to confirm the number of casualties or the total number of people trapped in the collapsed building.

Investigations into the cause of the collapse are ongoing, while emergency responders continue efforts to locate and rescue any remaining victims.
