- Yamal Scores on his return from injury as Spain bounced back from a disappointing opener to hammer Saudi Arabia 4-0 and claim their first win of the FIFA World Cup.

Teenage sensation Lamine Yamal marked his return to Spain’s starting lineup in style as Yamal scores and helps the European champions secure a commanding 4-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in their second FIFA World Cup group match on Sunday.
The emphatic win in Atlanta handed Spain their first victory of the tournament and moved them to the top of Group H with four points from two matches.
After being frustrated in a shock 0-0 draw against Cape Verde in their opening fixture, Spain responded with a dominant attacking display, led by the returning Barcelona star.
The match was only 10 minutes old when Yamal scores, finishing neatly at the back post after connecting with a low cross from Mikel Oyarzabal. The goal immediately settled Spanish nerves and set the tone for a one-sided contest.
Spain doubled their advantage shortly afterward through Oyarzabal, who completed a quick-fire brace to leave Saudi Arabia trailing 3-0 after just 24 minutes.
The Saudis struggled to cope with Spain’s relentless pressure and attacking movement throughout the first half, with Yamal proving a constant threat on the right flank.
Spain added a fourth goal shortly after the restart when Marc Cucurella’s effort was saved by goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais, only for the rebound to deflect off defender Hassan Al-Tambakti and into the net.
The comfortable victory was a significant response from Luis de la Fuente’s side following criticism of their blunt attack against Cape Verde in their opening game.
With Yamal scores becoming one of the major talking points of the match, Spain’s attack looked revitalised by the teenager’s return after two months on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury.
The result places Spain in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stage as they continue their quest for World Cup glory.

Meanwhile, Cape Verde were set to face Uruguay later on Sunday, with coach Pedro Leitao Brito, popularly known as Bubista, insisting his side would approach the match without fear despite facing one of the tournament’s traditional heavyweights.
Elsewhere, Germany became one of the first teams to book a place in the knockout rounds after securing a dramatic 2-1 victory over Ivory Coast. The Netherlands also strengthened their qualification hopes with a convincing 5-1 win over Sweden, while Japan cruised to a 4-0 victory over Tunisia in the 1,000th match in World Cup history.
For Spain, however, the day belonged to Yamal, whose impressive return provided the spark needed to reignite their World Cup campaign.
