VerseNews reported that Anjarwalla, who had previously fled Nigeria using a forged Kenyan passport, was apprehended in April following a joint operation involving law enforcement agencies from Nigeria, Kenya, and international bodies like INTERPOL and the FBI.

The Office of the National Security Adviser, led by Nuhu Ribadu, had previously disclosed Anjarwalla’s escape from lawful custody in Nigeria, highlighting his use of a fake Kenyan passport. Government sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity, have confirmed Anjarwalla’s detention by Kenyan authorities and anticipate his extradition to Nigeria imminently.

“Anjarwalla’s arrest in Kenya signals a significant breakthrough in the efforts to bring him to justice,” commented a government source, speaking confidentially. “The extradition process, facilitated by INTERPOL, is expected to be completed within the week.”

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Nigeria Police Force, and the Kenyan Police Service have been coordinating closely to expedite Anjarwalla’s extradition since his location was traced to Kenya. Despite going into hiding upon his arrival in Kenya, law enforcement agencies have been persistent in their pursuit of Anjarwalla, ultimately leading to his arrest.

The collaborative efforts between Nigerian and Kenyan authorities underscore the commitment to combating transnational crimes and ensuring that fugitives face justice for their actions. As the extradition process progresses, authorities remain vigilant, aiming to swiftly bring Anjarwalla back to Nigeria to face the legal consequences of his actions.
