Moments earlier, Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni had introduced Lautaro Martinez in place of Rodrigo De Paul, a substitution that would prove decisive.

In the 92nd minute, Julian Alvarez released Lautaro Martinez on a swift attack. The Inter Milan striker surged forward before delivering a perfectly weighted cross for Enzo Fernandez, who headed home the winning goal to spark wild celebrations among the Argentine players and supporters.
