- Panic erupted in Lagos after suspected gunmen stormed a barbing salon and shot a barber identified as Hafiz dead moments after he finished attending to his last customer.

A barber identified simply as Hafiz has been shot dead after unknown gunmen stormed his barbing salon at Church Gate along the Badagry Expressway in Lagos State.
The incident reportedly occurred on the night of July 21, shortly after Hafiz had finished attending to his last customer for the day.
According to eyewitnesses, three armed men entered the salon, opened fire on the barber, and fled the scene immediately after the attack.
Hafiz was rushed to a nearby hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
An anti-cultism platform, Naija Confra, also confirmed the killing, revealing that the victim was allegedly shot twice in the head inside his shop.
While the motive behind the attack remains unclear, residents of the area said there had been no recent cult-related clashes, describing the community as peaceful before the incident.
They added that it remains uncertain whether the killing was linked to business dealings, personal grievances, or other criminal motives.
The Lagos State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
