INEC Postpones Governorship, Assembly Elections In Rivers LGA

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the governorship and state of house of assembly elections in Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Rivers State.

VerseNews Nigeria reports that this was confirmed by the INEC Head,  Voter Education, Mike Usolo.

Speaking on the postponement, Usolo said Commission has postponed elections in Asari-Toru and parts of Degema LGAs as electoral materials could not be distributed in those areas.

This Online News Media also observed that the postponement is also attributed to the disagreement among the voters at the RAC Center in Buguma, Headquarter of Asari-Toru LGA, insisting on seeing Collation Officers.

Usolo faulted the voters and said Collation Officers are only seen at Collation Centres and not RAC Centres.
