The Federal High Court in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, has adjourned the resumed hearing of the case involving the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, over an alleged procurement fraud amounting to N6.9 billion.

It was gathered that the matter was not included in the court’s programme for Wednesday as lawyers representing Emefiele and the Federal Government were absent.

VerseNews had reported last Thursday that Emefiele who appeared in court was not arraigned for the fresh charges filed against him as the second defendant was said to have been indisposed.

This comes after Justice Hamza Muazu granted the request by Emefiele’s lawyers asking the court to strike out the illegal possession of firearms charges against their client.

But in court today, according to Channels Television, Emefiele (the first defendant) was present, the second defendant, a female CBN employee, Sa’adatu Yaro, was not in court.
