‘No Government Can Give You Peace, Only God Can’ — Bishop Oyedepo

• Bishop Oyedepo has said no government can guarantee lasting peace, urging Nigerians to seek peace from God alone while dedicating a new worship centre in Delta State.

The Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has declared that no government can guarantee lasting peace, insisting that true peace can only come from God.

Oyedepo made the remark while ministering at the dedication of Dreamland, Master’s City, the new worship centre of Master’s Place International Church in Warri, Delta State, on Sunday.

Speaking on the theme, “Why Do We Dedicate Places of Worship?”, the renowned cleric explained that churches are dedicated because they belong to God, the builder and owner of His Church.

“God is the owner and builder of His Church. Behind every sanctuary is God, so we are dedicating it to the Owner, because God builds all things. The glory of God will fill His house, and this sanctuary shall be His habitation and house of salvation,” Oyedepo said.

The bishop also urged worshippers not to rely on governments or worldly systems for peace.

“No government in this world can give you peace, neither can you find it in the market. It is only God that can give you peace,” he declared.

The dedication ceremony also featured the reordination of the Senior Pastor of Master’s Place International Church, Pastor Korede Komaiya, and his wife, Pastor Esther Komaiya, which was described as a special impartation and consecration for the next phase of their lives and ministry.

Congratulating the couple and members of the church on the completion of the worship complex, Oyedepo prayed for greater accomplishments.

“Congratulations. The best is yet to come. Receive fresh grace today to remain faithful and consistent with God,” he said.

Addressing the congregation, he added, “To this church family, congratulations.”

During the reordination service, Oyedepo laid hands on Pastor Korede and Pastor Esther Komaiya, pronouncing prophetic blessings and prayers over their lives and ministry.

The event, held as part of the International Founders Conference 2026, attracted thousands of worshippers and prominent Christian leaders from across Nigeria and beyond, including Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, Pastor Poju Oyemade, Pastor Bolaji Idowu, Rev. Tony Akinyemi, Rev. Samuel Olubiyo and Pastor Yemi Davids.

Speaking at the ceremony, Pastor Korede Komaiya thanked God for the successful completion of the worship centre and appreciated the support of senior ministers.

“We are grateful to God for the gift of men and for the lives that continue to impact generations through their ministries. To God alone be all the glory,” he said.
