Defending champions Nigeria’s Super Falcons have arrived in Rabat, Morocco, in grand style ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), turning heads with elegant green-and-white Adire outfits as they prepare to chase a record-extending 11th continental title.
The players were dressed in matching traditional gowns and headwraps, proudly showcasing Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage as they settled into their tournament base.
Off the pitch, the team also delighted fans by sharing photos and videos of their arrival across social media.
Midfielder Esther Okoronkwo, Jennifer Echegini and Michelle Alozie entertained supporters with a fun video themed “Rich Aunty Vibes,” while goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie posted humorous skits and poses that quickly attracted reactions online.
Defender Tosin Demehin and Folashade Ijamilusi were among the other Super Falcons stars who also shared moments from the stylish arrival.
The team’s arrival in Rabat followed the conclusion of a 10-day training camp in Casablanca, where head coach Justine Madugu fine-tuned his squad ahead of the tournament.
Nigeria wrapped up preparations with a 2-1 victory over Tanzania in an international friendly, boosting confidence ahead of their opening fixture.
The Super Falcons, Africa’s most successful women’s national team with 10 WAFCON titles, will begin their Group C campaign against Malawi on Tuesday at the Al Madina Stadium in Rabat.
They will then face Zambia before rounding off the group stage against Egypt as they bid to secure another continental crown.
Adding to the excitement, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) recently unveiled a special 10-star Super Falcons jersey, with each star representing one of Nigeria’s WAFCON triumphs—a symbol of the team’s unrivalled dominance in African women’s football.
With confidence high both on and off the pitch, the Super Falcons will be hoping their stylish arrival is the perfect start to another historic WAFCON campaign.
